We employ some 5,500 people worldwide. And while they may all join us with very different skills and backgrounds, they have much in common. They’re eager to contribute – be that a fresh insight, a novel idea or a well-thought-through plan; they love pulling together as a team; and they care deeply about the patients we serve. What’s more, they’re determined to develop themselves as well as our business. Have a look at the routes the careers of just a few of them have taken.

Senior Chemist, Microbiology
Dublin Plant
25 Years

I joined our Dublin Plant  when it was still a start-up operation. Everything and everyone was new so there were many challenges. But even back then Mallinckrodt was open to new ideas and new ways of doing things and it was great to be part of that. Another big plus for me was the fact that our products save lives by helping diagnose serious illnesses early. A career highlight was developing the analytical methods for the new manufacturing process for one of our products, especially as I was able to spend 14 weeks in St. Louis working on the project - a great experience.

1999 - PresentCurrent Position

Senior Chemist, Microbiology

I studied microbiology as part of my degree so I was trained to take over the role of QC Chemist assigned to Microbiology and now look after the micro issues on site. I’m really looking forward to further developing the microbiology section as part of the Quality function. We’ve just bought a major new piece of equipment and are about to launch a full-scale overhaul of the area.

1993 - 1999Previous Position

Quality Control (QC) Chemist

I started out reviewing and testing raw materials and evaluating finished product, making sure everything met strict quality standards. My biggest responsibility was working as an In-Process Chemist on my own supporting the process.
